Hiking around Bressanoneand across the Val d’Isarco
Art and culture is an integral part of a farm holiday. The Episcopal city of Bressanone holds all sorts of cultural treasures, such as the Cathedral, the parish church of St. Michael with the well-known White Tower, the cloisters, the Hofburg Palace, the Diocesan Museum, the Nativity Museum, the Pharmacy Museum, or guided tours with the night guard. However, you may also just stroll through the historic old town, enjoy a delicious ice cream, or go shopping.
The water park Acquarena offers swimming fun, sauna, and solarium all year round.
Climbers will love the Climbing Hall “Vertikale” in Bressanone. The new climbing centre has a capacity of 7,000 cubic meters, is 20 meters high, has a climbing area of 1,500 square meters – indoor and outdoor – and a boulder area of 400 square meters.
In Novacella, not far from Bressanone, you may visit the Novacella Abbey, while in Bolzano – the region’s capital – there are many museums, such as the Archaeological Museum with the famous glacier mummy “Ötzi“ or the Natural History Museum.
Hikers, mountain bike fans and – in the winter – skiers and snowboarders will have plenty of fun on Mount Plose, the local mountain of Bressanone: Wide hiking trails, kilometres of ski slopes, a fun park for freestylers, and the longest downhill run in South Tyrol are waiting for you.
Starting directly from the farm Stocknerhof you may find a variety of hiking routes, such as the path to Lake Rodella or the Chestnut Trail to Velturno.

Törggelen the origin of a South Tyrolean tradition
The roots of Törggelen can be found in viticulture, as the winemakers and their helpers set up a large board in the room where the “Törggele” – the wine press – stood. There, all the delicacies that South Tyrolean autumn has to offer were served with the new wine: roasted chestnuts, fresh fruit, meat platters, and fresh vegetables. Furthermore, there are dumplings, donuts, ravioli, rye bread, and smoked sausages. This tradition is cherished and maintained until today, and should you plan your family holiday on the farm in the autumn, you may look forward to a time full of culinary and healthy delights!
